Technical information about this website’s accessibility

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

In two key instances, it is not possible to tab to all elements within the page. The first being that the user cannot access the information dropdowns, and the second being the dropdowns on some tables that change the table view. This fails WCAG Level A 2.2 success criterion 2.1.1 (Keyboard).

When navigating the page using a screen reader, markup has not always been used to aid accessibility. This fails WCAG Level A 2.2 success criterion 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value).

The tab order is not logical when tabbing the page with a desktop screen reader (NVDA). This fails WCAG Level A 2.2 success criterion 2.4.3 (Focus Order).

Code markup has not always been used to aid accessibility. Elements are present that use unsupported ARIA attributes, and ARIA commands are present that do not have an accessible name. This fails WCAG Level A 2.2 success criterion 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value).

Some iframes are not appropriately titled. This may cause screen readers to announce content unexpectedly. This fails WCAG Level A 2.2 success criterion 2.4.1 (Bypass Blocks).

Some information is solely communicated by colour. This fails WCAG Level A 2.2 success criterion 1.4.1 (Use of Colour).

Semantic markup is not used appropriately for some headings and lists. This fails WCAG Level A 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships).

On the Local Needs, Population Data, and Assets pages, the maps can be difficult to get past when using keyboard navigation. This fails WCAG Level A 2.2 success criterion 2.4.3 (Focus Order).

Some copy has insufficient contrast against its background. This fails WCAG Level AA 2.2 success criterion 1.4.3 (Contrast (Minimum)).

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We are currently reviewing these findings to determine the technical feasibility of various fixes. We aim to address these issues where possible, prioritising improvements that have the greatest impact on user experience. We will update this statement as our remediation plan progresses.
